It’s good habit to take all your rods out from their rod tubes, inspect them before putting them back and packing for a trip. While you’re at it, it’s a good time to clean them if you’ve not already done so before putting them back. More so a big trip.
I’ve seen it happen more than once where there is no rods in the packed rod tubes. Discovered only during unpacking at the fishing destination. Or broken and damaged rods. Or not the rods you’re expecting in that rod tube!
That is one good way to screw up the trip you’ve been looking forward to for the longest time – right at the start of the trip no less.
These “mishaps” are especially prevalent to busy people. Rushing the packing at the last minute doesn’t help.
