Pond fishing may not be everyone’s cup of tea but they serve many purposes to others. Even experienced hardcore anglers like us enjoy going for a quickie once in awhile.
After his first fly fishing trip in Royal Belum, Bob wanted to kill some time and experience catching some fish that would otherwise require him to invest quite some time and effort. I took him to a popular saltwater pond just out of Kuala Lumpur – SW Jurassic.
We fished for about three hours and Bob had a fish-on within 30 minutes of fishing. I can see Bob was surprised by the strong pull of the fish.
Unfortunately the fly came off and the fish was lost. Fishing was tough from then and only picked up later when Bob had his first experience landing some groupers, a redfish and even a hard-fighting GT which is the hardest fish to catch here.
